only for a moment
and take my hands
off of the wheel
i clasp them together
and whisper a silent prayer
that i might sleep tonight
the peaceful slumber
of one who never wakes
opening my eyes
just before the impact
hoping i don't survive
my body crushed
against the wheel
the airbag stifles my breathe
my heart begins to slow
as i drift off
into unconciousness
